In a small skillet, heat 1/2 cup cup vegetable oil. Fry corn tortillas by holding tortilla with tongs, lowering into hot grease, turning once till crisp. Drain on paper towel. Now heat 1 16-oz. can refried beans. Spread 4 tablespoons beans on each tortilla. Sprinkle each tostada with 4 tablespoons grated cheese. Garnish with any or all of the following:
