For centuries, if not millenniums, many cultures have traditionally combined legumes & rice. The reason is simple. They learned that combining beans with rice provides us with the essential proteins, amino acids & carbohydrates necessary for survival. Lucky for us humans these foods are both so delicious & plentiful.
It's easy to serve this dish as Spanish Rice - simply add a half-pound or so of lean ground beef. Or if you would prefer to make Spicy Red Beans & Rice as a soup we tell you how in our product information.

We just had this for dinner tonight with Mexican Meatballs! Although this beans and rice dish was meant to be a side dish, it became our favorite part of the meal and could have easily been the main dish, it was so good! Just the right amount of spice to give it a kick, but we could easily handle the intensity! A do again for sure!
