True enchilada sauce is made from pure chiles and has no tomatoes. We are the first to admit that our Carlotta's, which has a tomato base, is not actually true but it is GOOD! Its main function, of course, is for the ever-popular enchiladas - but it also serves well as a dip or topping as well, either hot or cold. Its flavor is quite unique and it cries for cheese - Colby or Monterey Jack is recommended.

Once you have the hang of assembling enchiladas, it's a real crowd pleaser. For a colorful companion, serve along with our Traditional Mexican Rice and one of our bean dishes.  

Product Basics:

• All natural, preservative-free.
• No flavor enhancers. Nothing added, nothing taken away.
• Low fat.
• 10 oz. of Carlotta's Enchilada Sauce mix (approx. 2 cups) packaged in a plastic spice jar.
• Makes approximately 100 fluid ounces.
• Enough sauce for approximately 25 enchiladas with some sauce left over.
• Heat factor on a scale of 1(mild) - 10 (HOT!): 6.
• Requires addition of: tomato sauce and water.
• Preparation time: 20 minutes.
• Ingredients: pure New Mexico mild chile powder, flour, beef base, garlic, salt and our secret blend of herbs & spices.
