Mimbres Linen Set: FROG

Product Description

These beautiful graphic designs were painted on the insides of ceramic bowls that were created by the potters of the Mimbres culture nearly 1000 years ago. These prehistoric peoples lived between 1000 AD and 1280 AD in the Mimbres River Valley of southwestern New Mexico.
The towel & potholder are tied together with colorful raffia & decorated with a chile pepper. Hang tags explain the symbolism of the design.
Frogs are water symbols & are associated with the creation myth. The grid dot pattern on his back represents "corn".
