The humble pinto bean is a mainstay in the southwest. Pintos were and remain one of the most relied upon beans among many world cultures. This dish is a bit hot from black pepper & the exotic chipotle pepper (chipotles are made from smoked dried jalapeņos).
Serve Papago Pintos as a side dish with no meat added, or as a main dish adding beef, pork or a smoked ham hock. Or on tostados, vegetarian tacos, nachos & burritos. Left-over beans are delicious refried. We tell you how in our product information.
James Cunkle shared this memory from his past with us:
"They say memories are not accurate, but that they are edited to fit your needs. They say school lunches are awful, designed to feed the masses. Well then, if memory serves me, I remember GREAT school lunches. Every Friday, Madison No. 1 in Phoenix, Arizona served scrumptious pinto beans and corn bread, all you could eat, and I did. It was the motivation behind Papago Pintos."Why folks love our Papago Pinto Beans:
